Stressed out about failing exam

First, you're going to pass the LCSW exam. You will.

Many people have sat where you're sitting, feeling hopeless and traumatized, after failing the LCSW exam.  It is hard to regroup after failing, especially if feel like you studied and hard as you could have and even worse, if you spent a lot of money on expensive test prep services that didn't work.

Social Work Exam Prep Programs

The best thing you can do for yourself is to take some time off from studying.  Give your brain a break.  Don't even THINK about studying for the LCSW exam for at least a month.  Why?  Because you just got beat up by this testing process and you need time to heal and clear your head.  Failing the LCSW exam is very stressful.  It will do no good to try to study for the exam when you are overly stressed.

Mark a date on your calendar a few months from now.  That is when you will start to think about preparing for the LCSW exam.

When that date comes around, what should you do first?  Email us with your contact info.  One of our LCSW coaches  will provide you with a free 15minute phone consultation about your study plan.  We can assess what you need to do to pass the exam.

Enlist support.  You can find an LCSW study partner or LCSW study group who wants to help keep each other motivated and review material.  If you don't know of anyone, email us and we can link you up.

Take good care of yourself.  Managing your LCSW test anxiety is a key part of success.  Make sure to keep your life balanced, take walks regularly (it will help you memory), and reach out for support when you need it.

Last, believe in yourself.  The Therapist Development Center looks forward to helping you pass.
