Jess Garner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Sacramento, CA. Jess received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Chico in 2011 and received her MSW from California State University, Sacramento in 2014. Jessica’s experience and training spans a diverse population. Her internships afforded her the opportunity to work with foster and at-risk youth and developing skills training as a middle-school counselor. In graduate school Jess dedicated her time to a children’s community mental health clinic where she published a mental health and suicide awareness newsletter and later she gained ICU experience working in the field of medical social work, her greatest passion. Her interest in social justice and medical policy was her inspiration to write a policy analysis of the MSM Blood Donor Ban. After grad school, Jess worked as a hospice social worker and specialized in end-of-life counseling, supporting both dying patients and processing grief and bereavement with their loved ones. Hospice led to her dedicating time and energy lobbying for the NASW supported End of Life Options Act in California, advocating for a patient’s right to self-determination. Jess now works full-time in the acute care hospital setting, assessing new mothers and also assisting adults who suffer from chronic health issues and co-occurring mental health diagnosis, substance use disorders, abuse/neglect or homelessness.
Jess passed both her California Law and Ethics and LCSW Clinical Exam on the first try using the TDC study method. Jess is excited to help you pass and feel confident that the TDC is the only study method needed to progress forward in your professional goals. You can do it!
