Our 2019 LCSW Exam Study System prepares social workers to pass the CLINICAL Level Exam administered by the ASWB. Our 2019 LCSW Exam Study System is fully updated to reflect the new 2019 ASWB exam. Our online study system includes access to:

  • An organized, step-by-step study plan that allows you to create a personalized, easy to follow schedule.  Many people waste valuable time trying to figure out what to study and often miss out on key topics OR end up over studying topics that are unlikely to show up on the exam.  Our plan keeps you focused and efficient - covering exactly what you need to know for the ASWB's Licensed Clinical Social Worker Exam and nothing you don’t.
  • Online audio workshops with downloadable handouts – listen when you want and how much you want.  This means you can study on the go - in the car, on a walk, at the gym, or cleaning your house. The audio and visual study materials work for all types of learners.
  • Effective study tools for the ASWB Clinical Exam — Top 50 Topics Tested, Law & Ethics Quiz, DSM 5 Audio Lectures and Outline, Quick Studies and Quizzes for key terms and content.
  • Clinical examples that help you learn instead of memorize. To pass this exam you need to understand how to approach the reasoning-based questions that make up the vast majority of the LCSW exam, including being able to identify what the key clinical concept of each question is. Our program brings content alive with real life examples like the ones you will see on the ASWB Clinical Level Exam.
  • Clear test-taking strategies you will use on exam day to figure out what they are asking and what the best answer is.  Our strategies also focus on anxiety management to keep you thinking clearly.
  • ASWB practice exams with over 750+ practice questions that include detailed audio or written rationales, & reflect the actual kinds of questions you will see on the ASWB Clinical Level Exam.  Our questions were written by social workers who passed with scores of 90% or higher on the ASWB Clinical Exam, so the questions accurately reflect what you will see on the test (unlike many other practice tests and programs you will find out there in the test prep world).
  • Coaches available for questions and support who will always get back to you within two business days (but are often able to get back with you even sooner!).

Our LCSW Exam Prep/Clinical Exam Prep program takes 57 hours of study time to complete once. We recommend studying between 2 and 12 weeks. Access to the program expires after 4 months, but it is FREE to extend or repeat the program. We are with you until you PASS the Licensed Clinical Social Work Exam! Once you sign up, you can access the program immediately. Nothing is shipped - it is all on-line. Get started now to prepare yourself to PASS the ASWB Clinical Exam with confidence!

Still unsure if our LCSW Exam Prep is right for you?

Here at the Therapist Development Center, we understand that taking the ASWB Clinical Level Exam can be very daunting.  Many of you have jobs that are dependent on you passing this LCSW exam.  Others have been out of graduate school for a long time and feel out of touch with the broad amount of content tested on the ASWB Clinical Exam. Finding the right LCSW Exam Prep can be challenging with so many options - books, workshops, apps and other on-line options.

Many social workers come to us after using other LCSW study guides and failing, finding themselves feeling defeated and hopeless. They report that they were overwhelmed with a pile of books, that the day long workshop only covered a small portion of the content tested, or that the online program they went through didn’t teach them how to answer the types of questions that showed up on their exams.  We totally get it. We created a robust study program for the ASWB Clinical Exam that offers multiple learning methods, so your brain can learn both the content you need to pass, and the strategy needed to break down the unique types of questions that show up on this exam. The good news is, once the social workers who previously failed started studying with us, they quickly found themselves with a renewed sense of confidence and were able to successfully PASS their ASWB Clinical Level Exams.

Course Reviews

Today I passed my Clinial Exam!!!! I walked in and attacked the test with confidence and very little anxiety because TDC prepared me! From the study guides to the quizzes to the mock exams. I also took the ASWB practice exam. The questions on the practice exam were very similar to ones from the mock exams! I wasn’t familiar with the DSMV and diagnosing criteria, but I can truly say I am now! I was required to get 103 correct answers but I got 108 correct instead. That may not be many to some but for me the number 5 signifies God’s grace! Thanks For creating a effective program that is well worth every penny! TDC was a true investment in myself and the future!! I highly recommend this program.

I used TDC to study for my Law and Ethics exam a few years ago, and i had been so eager to finish my hours so that I could use them to study for my LCSW exam. The day finally arrived, and I can say that the program was actually a joy to use for the entire process. It made learning and reviewing INTERESTING and i genuinely felt like i was learning clinical skills and mastering topics. I did the program twice because i had time before my exam date, and i felt so fully prepared the day of the test. Needless to say, i passed, and I have TDC to thank. You guys are amazing and I am excited to recommend this program to everyone i know who is studying!!! Thank you!

I used TDC for my LMSW and LCSW. I passed both time the first time. Just thank you for putting together such an amazing resource!!!

I only had about 8 weeks to study. TDC was the best choice and the mock exams with rationales were very helpful. I passed and feel TDC was money well spent.

Teaches you how to THINK on the exam not just follow rules
Helped me really connect my knowledge with my clinical skills

I was SO nervous before taking this test. I think I was worried because I did not know what would be on the test vs what I had been studying thus far. Let me tell you, there were maybe a total of 5 questions where I had never heard of the answers/question before. To say TDC prepares you is an understatement. I was able to finish the test in about 2 hours because of how prepared I was. Thank you TDC for giving me the confidence to pass my ASWB test the first time!

Thank you for providing such an excellent prep system!

I owe the passing of my exam to TDC and God!! I couldn't thank this team enough for not only the materials and organized study plan, but for being readily available when needed!! I will recommend TDC to anyone in need of study materials for the LCSW exam and to my students. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I used TDC for Law and Ethics and had such a positive experience; there was no doubt in mind that TDC would see me through the LCSW exam. I allowed 3 months to study, followed all steps, and was able to pass on my first try!!! With the support of TDC I went into the exam feeling prepared and confident. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I don't want to share this as a testimonial, and don't want this comment placed into a public domain, it's just for you guys. I think your course is excellent. The Top 50 topics lectures, the mock exams and rationale recordings, the pep talk, etc., and going through the exam, it definitely helped to "take Amanda into the exam with me," as I reasoned through the answers. I gave this feedback to Heidi on facebook, but will reiterate, that in some of your materials, there is still the use of some outdated language, such as "substance abuser," "addict," "criminal," "prisoner," etc. I would just encourage you guys to review your materials and everywhere you find that language, substitute person first language, such as "person with a substance use disorder," "person with a history of incarceration," substance misuse, etc. The use of outdated stigmatizing language is hurtful, and everyone in the field should be moving to use of person first language. If you're not familiar with this resource, you can consult the A-ddictionary. It's a great reference. Also, as an aside, in one of the mock exams, I encountered several instances of this old, outdated language, and that made me question whether the exam was really a reflection of what I was going to encounter on test day.

Otherwise, great job, great course!! I never would have passed without you guys.
Thank you!!

This program is great!! It organizes your study for you so all you have to do is create your study schedule and follow it. I loved listening to Amanda and her rational for the "First, Next, Must " questions. It was the tool I needed to pass this test. I truly found that during the test I had her voice in my head talking through the questions. I was recommended this program from a colleague of mine and I would recommend it to anyone, if it totally worth every cent.

I was very nervous about taking the test, but The Therapist Development Center gave me the tools and the confidence I needed. I felt that I had prepared appropriately, and I felt like they were there with me in the testing center giving me confidence while I took the exam. Thank you for making this an organized process for me!

The program helped me to learn how to answer the questions . This program is easy to understand and your time is organized to fit your study time around your busy life.

PASSED!!!!

I needed 103 to pass and scored 120! I followed all the tip and suggestions TDC made as far as taking a snack, when to take a break, doing some self care before the exam, etc. Thank you!

I have used TDC twice now (law and ethics and LCSW exams) and couldn't recommend it more. The program is comprehensive, easy to use, and prepared me with confidence for both tests. The coaches are responsive and helpful and the mix of listening, reading, and practice tests will help you succeed no matter how you learn. Thank you TDC!

Great self paced and well designed system. My brain hurts a bit, but I PASSED! I felt confident going into the exam. Still a bit anxious, but prepared. Thanks!

very thorough in covering ethics, and the DSM 5 diagnostics. The quick studies, I found them challenging, I would of like a lecture on macro social work. I found it difficult to differentiate between development, advocacy and evaluation.

I felt so defeated after multiple failures. With this program I knew I only had to study this program not multiple different books or references. The steps made it easy to follow and outline my study time. I feel like it’s a great program and will recommend it to anyone.

I came to TDC after failing the LCSW exam twice. There were so many times when I just wanted to give up on retaking the test out of fear of failing again, but I'm so glad I didn't. I was beyond impressed with the information and support TDC provides. They truly are with you UNTIL YOU PASS and words can't describe how thankful I am for this study system. I'm not a good test taker, but this system helps improve your ability to take a 4 hour clinical exam. The quizzes, quick studies, and mock exams were the most helpful for me. The feeling I have is unbelievable and I can't thank TDC enough for helping me prepare for this exam. If you truly put in the effort and take this program seriously, I promise you WILL PASS!
