Bethany Vanderbilt is a solid as they come. As Amanda's first hire she has been and continues to be the wind beneath Amanda's wings. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alexandria, VA. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Brown University in 2001 and went on to pursue a master of social work from the Smith College School for Social Work, which she completed in 2006. In 2009, she received a post-graduate certificate in Infant-Parent Mental Health from the University of Massachusetts, Boston; she has also been trained as a Reflective Parenting group facilitator through the Reflective Parenting Program in West Los Angeles.
Originally from New Hampshire (where they must LIVE FREE OR DIE), Bethany spent six years in Los Angeles, where she worked primarily in child and family community mental health clinics and met Amanda. She has experience working with children of all ages, although her greatest interest lies in working with families who have children age 5 and under; Bethany plans to expand her clinical practice to pregnant women and women in the post-partum period, as the transition into parenthood seems universally foundation-shaking.
Bethany is now the parent of two wonderful boys, which has furthered her interests in the transition into parenthood and in infant-parent mental health. She has always enjoyed learning and growing and is pleased to be part of TDC, which allows her opportunities to develop and to assist others in developing both professionally and personally.
